Looking Forward to the Summer Holidays
We have finally overcome the final challenge of F.4, the final exam.
We did our best to prepare for it. We practically entered the study room at 8:30 a.m. and left at 10 p.m. This was our schedule every day during the exam period. We met many MST students in the study room. It was like seeing comrades while fighting a war. This feeling encouraged us to study much harder. However, it was still quite a difficult time for us as we had to sacrifice all kinds of entertainment.
Most of the students are now excited about what they are going to do in the coming holiday. Most of them said that they would like to join as many activities as they could. Some of them said that they would find a summer part-time job to get experience and earn money.
Is that really a good idea? Here are some warm reminders.
First, while choosing a job, pay attention to the job nature. Do not do anything illegal , such as drug trafficking. Students should beware of traps. Wonderful model jobs do not just come out of nowhere. Do not sign any agreements without consulting your parents.
Secondly, while doing the job, students should pay attention to work safety. A poorly managed kitchen is in fact accident- prone. Do your co-workers have any bad habits like smoking or taking drugs? Keep yourself away from them!
Thirdly, talk to the Labour Department if the employer doesn’t pay you the salary on time. Moreover, do not forget to ask your employer to give you a letter proving your work experience.
In conclusion, doing a summer job can be a good experience if we do it safely and legally. We hope you will have an enjoyable and meaningful summer holiday!
